Brief observations on events of the time. Lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, moved to Utah in 1848. Settled in Tooele as a farmer and miller, then moved to Millville, later to St. George.

Edwards, Esias, 1812-1897.

Esias Edwards was born in Pike County, Missouri, on April 10, 1812. He moved with his family to Quincy, Illinois, in the 1820s and remained in Illinois for the next twenty years. He served on a mission to the Southern States before departing for the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. In 1859 Edwards and Leroy Kent started the first sawmill in Cache Valley's Millville.
